It’s been a trying year to love chocolate. The headlines are full of it: record cocoa prices, shortages, downgraded ingredients, bars quietly padded with substitutes, even cacao grown in labs. These are genuinely challenging times, and honestly, the pressure to cut corners has never been greater.
We’re not cutting them. Knoops was built on real chocolate, made with ingredients our ancestors would recognise. No artificial flavourings, no substitutes. We intend to keep it that way, whatever the market does.
It might mean we’re a little pricier than the shortcuts. But what you’re getting is the best quality, sourced ethically, with all the natural benefits of real cacao.
Which is worth celebrating on its own. But World Chocolate Day is also a chance to remember something else: chocolate was made for drinking. Five thousand years ago, that’s how it began, long before the bar. We honour that history in the details, right down to how we texture the milk to build the froth that the ancient Mesoamericans prized above almost everything.
Real chocolate, made for drinking. Same as it ever was.
