There’s a lovely shift happening at the moment. People are stepping out of their milk chocolate comfort zone and discovering they rather like the darker end of our Chocolate Library. The 54% Dark is the perfect first step, because it isn’t the dark you’re bracing for. It sits right in the sweet spot: softer than an Extra Dark, more grown-up than a Milk. Balanced, smooth, generously cocoa-rich.
It was made to my own specification and turned out to be a beautiful all-rounder, working well with any milk, any mix-in, any format: hot, iced, frozen, milkshake. That’s exactly why it’s our summer hero.
More often than not, I’ll start my day with a 54% Dark Frozen Chocolate Mocha, which does the double job of cooling and waking me on a warm morning. In the evening, a 54% Hot Chocolate with star anise and sea salt is a great on-the-go treat when a heavy dessert feels like too much.
